Especially for the Kunstroute Leiden 2026 I made an installation, titled ‘Classroom106’. The installation was build up and showed in ‘The Old School’ at the Pieterskerkhof in Leiden.

The installation is build up in a former classroom at ‘The Old School’, a municipal monument dating from 1924.

The title ‘Room 106’ refers to my own classroom at the ‘Beroepscollege Leystede a VMBO school in Leiden, where I teach drawing and crafts. Three artworks in my installation are constructed from fragments—circles and objects from still-lifes—taken from paintings created by my students of class 1 and 2 [age 12-14] In this way, the students’ work becomes an integral part of the installation.
